hot the hell did you do that? i mean i understand the principles, just not the sharpness and accuracy...

I never had a spirograph either! But I love the type of geometry it produces, and I love long expo pieces, so a combination of both is an irresistable fav

When I have tried to do this it has gone all wrong. Or more to the point it has gone all wonky. Please share the secrets of your technique... or is it a Masonic thing?

Cheers guv :salute: I also like the idea of each exposure being unique - the motion of the torch, the exposure setting, angle of camera view. Each element adding to a one-off.

 I wish there was a secret I could share - Masonic, Alchemic, Gnostic or otherwise. Perhaps, on reflection, the secret was being blissfully unaware that the shot may not work ! I will dig-out the camera settings for the shot and post them ASAP if that may help those who have asked. I did want a decent light source - I tend to use a Maglite-type torch (B&Q's own £5.00 using AA batteries) with the section that protects the bulb removed. I find this light source is very powerful for its size. Camera was set on its tripod immediately below the stationary light-on-a-rope and focussed accordingly. I has some idea of how much of an arc I wanted, set the cam on timer, off'd the room lights and waited to see what happened. The image was cropped in CS2 but that was it, no other adjustment.
